Gongs

The gong produces a powerful and sturdy fundamental note, full of tone, which is enhanced and softened by harmonic overtones, creating a full, warm and round response.

Gongs come in a variety of sizes, styles, and shapes. Many gongs are flat with a central dome and are hung in a frame for the musician to play with beaters.

Bowl gongs are more rounded and bowl-shaped and rest on the ground. These are played with a mallet or hands.
