Before LP created the LP Afuche® Cabasa, only fragile cabasas existed. These were made from coconut shells and a lattice of seeds strung with wire. LP created the LP Traditional Cabasa to replace these frail instruments.
The modern LP Traditional Cabasa is crafted from high strength plastic for the shell, wood handle, and beads, with tough nylon cord for the bead stringing.
This instrument yields a bright and lively sound with greater dynamic range and durability than its predecessor, yet with the same shape and playing feel.
