There is nothing quite like a drum circle to make you feel as though you are part of the world around you. If you've never experienced the power of drumming with others, now is your chance to join the X8 Drums community. X8 Interactive Drumming, VORTEX Repertory Company, Swan Percussion and Rattletree School of Marimba proudly invite you to the "Austin Community Drum Circle."

Facilitated by Kenya Masala. Kenya is a nationally-recognized X8 Drums endorsed drum circle facilitator and team building consultant. As director of X8 Interactive Drumming, Kenya's high energy interactive performances and programs have inspired audiences coast to coast.

Spend some time feeling the rhythm and invest yourself in the interactive experience of an evening drum circle in Austin, TX. Coordinated by the staff members of Austin's own hand drum shop X8 Drums & Percussion and facilitated by X8 Drums endorsed artist Kenya Masala, this drum circle will be a fun and relaxing community event. Any type of instrument is welcome, so be sure to bring anything from your didgeridoo to your conga. X8 Drums & Swan Percussion will also supply djembe and cajon drums to those without an instrument. All ages welcome and The Butterfly Bar @ The VORTEX will be open serving drinks and cocktails.

THE RATTLETREE SCHOOL OF MARIMBA teaches adults and kids (8+) to play African marimba music on GIANT hand crafted instruments. Conveniently located in the Zilker neighborhood, the school's mission is to build and foster community around the beautiful music of the Shona people of Zimbabwe. Beginners encouraged!
